For the last 10-years, I have watched from afar in Australia the 24 Hours of LeMans and the World Endurance Championship. Watching the intense battles between Audi, Peugeot, Porsche & Toyota over the years, and the space race to building the ultimate endurance machines as the different rulesets changed. Unfortunately, the closest round of the WEC is in Japan, which is still just shy of a 10Hour flight. This year however that changed, after organising to attend the 2020 Super Lap Battle in Austin, Texas with Lyfe Motorsport. The news that the WEC round would be moving to Circuit of the Americas and just one week after Super Lap Battle, I knew I had to stay the extra week and attend. Bucketlist TICKED!!! This round of WEC was a 6Hour race and was a little down on competitors then many would have hoped. With just 1 Rebellion Racing entry, alongside the 2 Toyota works entries. The 3 LMP1 entries would be battling for the podium positions. The LMP2 and LMGTE Pro and AM had a good amount of entries and seemed to be a much closer competition. There some great battles throughout both fields, in the end, it was the United Autosport entry that won the LMP2 race. Where it was Aston Martin that dominated both Pro and AM races, which both came alive in the final hour of the race.
