World Time Attack is one of Australia’s premier motorsport calendar events and draws a great crowd year after year. This year I entered my Project BRZ car in to the Show ‘n’ Shine as part of the NSW 86/BRZ Car Club, and took the opportunity to have a sticky-beak at the cream of the crop of the Australian modified car scene.
Hundreds of modified car owners braved the heat and sunshine, with the overwhelming majority of JDM descent, but European cars were represented with some very fine examples, In particular VWs, a Lamborghini, BMWs and even a Audi R8.
While I was at it, I also took the opportunity to soak up the atmosphere in behind the pits and had the opportunity to chat with some of the competing drivers and their respective teams.
All in all a fantastic day for any motoring enthusiast. Every year I’m impressed with the laid back and casual feel of the event. Unlike many motorsport events that are tightly locked down with very restricted access to “behind the scenes” areas, WTAC lets fans mingle with the stars of the show, and this really adds to the atmosphere of the event. So props to the organisers and I can’t for WTAC 2016!
