Every year in Australia, the city of Adelaide hosts what is, in my opinion, the best Japanese car show in the country. All Japan Day!
What started way back in 2008 on nissansilvia.com (ns.com) has turned into a car show with over 500 cars entered and drawing crowds of close to 10,000 people down to the bay to see some of the great machines on show.
The man behind all of this is none other than Kristian Appelt from Iron Chef Imports. Each year the cars get better and better, with a few special ones put in the centre of it all.
This year it was the cars from GU Auto Concepts with their Liberty Walk kitted R35 on airbags. This was the first LW kit to be fitted in Australia.
There were some other rare cars such as the Tommy Kiara R33 GTR and Kristin’s R34 GTR R1, which only leaves his garage for that one rare trip to AJD each year. Mixed in were the usual classics as well as many Skyline’s and Silvia’s.
The event every year is run with all proceeds going to a charity, and this year $7500 was raised for Scleroderma Australia. Not only is it a great day at the bay looking at an awesome variety of cars, but you also get to help out some people in need.
Next year when All Jap Day rolls around, make sure you get down and take a look. You wont be disappointed!
